The Department of Medical Science encompasses more than 100 supervisors in six institutes and 19 departments within the Faculty of Medicine. Their research expertise covers a range of disciplines encompassing such topics as joint injury, developmental biology, physiology, medical education, telehealth etc.

If you are interested in locating a supervisor, please use our List of Supervisors which can be found in the sub links on the left had side of the page.

A supervisor must be in place before admission can be processed.

For more information regarding supervisory obligations, please consult the MDSC Policies and Procedures Handbook.

Admission to the Medical Science Graduate Program is granted only if appropriate supervision is available from a faculty member with adequate research facilities to support a student's research program. There is limited financial support for graduate students in this program. Therefore, an offer of admission is conditional on the availability of external financial support in the form of studentships and scholarships, or financial support directly from a prospective supervisor. Personal funds are not considered for this purpose. Currently, the minimum required graduate stipend is $17,850 per year of program. Specializations may have different requirements.
