Susan Rudy is a professor of English at The University of Calgary. Her research is in the areas of experimental poetics in Canada, feminist theory and women's writing. She is the author of Women, Reading, Kroetsch: telling the difference (1991) and co-author with Pauline Butling of At the moment: alternative poetries and communities in English Canada since 1960. She has published papers on Eli Mandel, Erin Mouré, Audrey Thomas and Claire Harris. An active editor, she is currently overseeing the publication of papers presented at the conference "Les Femmes et Les Textes / Women and Texts: Langages, Technologies, Communautés, Languages, Technologies, Communities"; she has also editied and co-edited several issues of the journal Open Letter: a Canadian Journal of Writing and Theory. Pauline Butling teaches in the Liberal Studies Programme at the Alberta College of Art and Design in Calgary. She is a specialist in the poetry of Phyllis Webb and women and literary institutions. She has written two book length critical studies, Seeing in the dark: the poetry of Phyllis Webb (1996), and At the moment: alternative poetries and communities in English Canada since 1960 (forthcoming) with Susan Rudy. She has published papers on Phyllis Webb, Robin Blaser, Charles Watts, Edward Byrne, and Canadian literary communities, and guest-edited a special issue of West Coast Line on the poetry of Phyllis Webb (1986).
Collection consists of material relating to At the moment: alternative poetries and communities in English Canada since 1960 including audio cassettes containing interviews with Canadian poets, transcriptions of seven of the interviews and complete manuscript of the interview volume of the book. File also includes conference pack and photographs relating to "Les Femmes et Les Textes / Women and Texts", an international conference co-organized by Susan Rudy at The University of Leeds, Leeds, England, July 2-5, 1997.
