Canadian poet, journalist, television director and composer William Hawkins was born in Ottawa, Ontario, in 1940. Published several collections of poetry including The madman's war, Ottawa poems and Shoot low sheriff, they're riding Shetland ponies.
Fonds consists of revised proof of The gift of space : selected poems 1960-1970 probably from New Press, publisher of the collection in 1971.
Acquired in 1978.
