Canadian composer, pianist, violinist and teacher Sophie-Carmen Eckhardt-Gramatté, née Fridman, was born in Moscow on January 6, 1899. Moved to Canada in 1953 and became a naturalized citizen in 1958. Died in Stuttgart, Germany, on December 2, 1974. Biographical information available in Encyclopedia of music in Canada. 2nd ed., p. 399-400.
Fonds consists of framed page of music score, concert and conference programmes, newsclippings and sound recordings.
Donated from the estate of Maryalice Stewart by Ralphine Locke in 2002.
