All members of the campus community are entitled to an e-mail account of the form username@ucalgary.ca. Please see http://www.ucalgary.ca/it/email for more information.

Information Technologies can also provide customized e-mail domains for faculties, departments, and other groups on campus. For example, e-mail addresses could be of the form username@customdomain.ucalgary.ca or username@customdomain.org.

Custom e-mail domains do not provide separate mailboxes. They are simply an alias for a mailbox located elsewhere. For example, joe@blog.org could be an alias for jsmith@ucalgary.ca.

Domain administrators are responsible for maintaining the table that contains a list of all e-mail addresses in the domain along with where each should be forwarded. IT provides a Web-based tool for this purpose.

There is a one-time setup fee of $200 for a custom e-mail domain. This allows up to 1000 e-mail addresses.

If your domain does not end in ucalgary.ca you must register the domain with an Internet registrar. This costs about $50/year.

For more information please contact IT's manager of Web & E-mail Services.
