The International History, Philosophy, and Science Teaching Group

conference in Tallahassee, Florida in 1989, the second in Kingston,
Ontario in 1992, the third in Minneapolis, Minnesota in 1995, the
fourth in Calgary in 1997, the fifth in Pavia, Italy in 1999, the
sixth in Denver, Colorado in 2001, the seventh conference in Winnipeg
at the University of Winnipeg, Manitoba in 2003; the eighth in Leeds
at the University of Leeds, England. The ninth has been awarded to
University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada.
The group has been associated since 1992 with the research journal Science & Education;
it arranges the periodic publication of special issues of other academic
journals devoted to 'History, Philosophy, and Science Teaching'; and
it supports the periodic publication of scholarly anthologies based
on journal contributions and conference proceedings. The conferences
are attended by about 200-250 researchers and teachers from 25-30
countries. Full proceedings have been printed, or made available on
CD, for each conference.
