IEEE Southern Alberta Section is planning a TISP (Teacher In-Service Program) project in the
Spring, and is looking for volunteers to help out with planning a
workshop, which is likely to be held in May. This is a great
opportunity for you to get to know other IEEE members as well as to
help inspire junior/senior high student to consider engineering as
their post secondary goal.

What is the Teacher In-Service Program?
The
Teacher In-Service Program (TISP) enables IEEE volunteers to share
their technical expertise and demonstrate the application of
engineering concepts  to support the teaching and learning of science,
mathematics and technology disciplines. IEEE offers training workshops
for its members on how to provide in-service programs to local
pre-university educators.

These in-services are
essentially professional development workshops aimed at helping
teachers bring exciting hands-on engineering lessons into their
classrooms. Once trained, members can connect with pre-university
schools (primary schools, middle schools and high schools) in their
local communities to deliver these hands-on in-service programs.

If you are interested in volunteering or have any questions, please email us back at sb.ucalgary@ieee.org or contact us through the website.
Thank you.
