Lab Bookings and Classes

Regularly scheduled classes occupy the IAML and NUML at various times during the week. Generally, class bookings require the entire lab space, so no other students are permitted to enter. On occasion, you may be able to use a station if you do not disturb the class in progress.

At times where there is low academic need, the Lab may be rented out to outside groups, whether they are based on campus or not. For example, our labs are highly suitable for training sessions or workshops. For more information, see our booking rates or contact us for more information. (The remainder of this page is directed at Lab users.)

Current Lab Booking Schedules

We post the lab schedules outside the Lab door so you know when you can and cannot enter. We also offer these schedules online in iCalendar format, which can be read by programs such as Calendar (iPhone, OS X Mountain Lion), iCal, Google Calendar, and Sunbird/Mozilla Calendar.

Last-minute changes to the schedule (such as a class ending early) or irregular staff support hours are tweeted on Twitter (@uciaml) — if you don't use Twitter, just go to the Lab home page, where the latest tweets are listed.

Getting Access to the Small Lab

If your intended use matches the intent of the space, getting access can be as easy as asking Lab staff. Our detailed policy describes everything you need to know.

Booking Equipment

Information about equipment and materials that can be booked and/or signed out is provided on the Services portion of this site under Equipment Loans. We do not allow individuals to book stations in either Lab at this time.

Privacy Statement

Giving users access to the Labs and our equipment means we collect the amount of personal data needed to administer such access. Read our Privacy Statement for more details.
