Procedures for Newly Admitted Students

Welcome to Graduate Programs in Education (GPE), one of the largest graduate units in the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Calgary.

If you were admitted to one of our graduate programs, you will find the information presented in this section helpful. As you prepare to register for your first course as an in program graduate student, please peruse the following links and if you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact the graduate program administrator who looks after your program. Her name is included in your admission letter.

Upon Admission

If you are not sure what to do now, follow these steps: 

• Register for an eID

• Accept or Decline your Offer of Admission via the myUofC.
  If you are a student admitted to one of the online programs, skip this step.

• Activate your University of Calgary IT account and set up your UofC email.

• Confirm your UofC email address and email it to your graduate program adminstrator and to gpe.educ@ucalgary.ca. Please include your full name, UCID number, program, and specialization in your message.

• Enter your UofC email as your primary account in the Student Centre.

• Examine your Course Tracking Form.

• Attend one of the Student Orientation to Online Course Delivery Tools: Blackboard and Elluminate Live sessions. - TBA

• Attend one of the Welcome to Graduate Programs in Education sessions for course-based students. - TBA

• Course registration instructions will be emailed to students in mid  May.
