Science - the next generation
About 460 of Canadas top science students gathered in the Olympic Oval from May 12-17 for the Canada-Wide Science Fair. One Calgary Youth Science Fair award winner competing at the event was Adrionna Cook (above), daughter of U of C geology and geophysics professor Fred Cook. Adrionnas project was titled Do Fossil Tree Rings Have Evidence of Global Warming in the Dinosaur Age? Meanwhile, in Cleveland, Calgary high-school student Jonathan Sick, son of U of C business professor Gordon Sick, competed for Team Canada at an international science fair. Jonathan won gold medals in each of the four years that he had competed at the Canada-Wide Science Fair. |
