The Department would like to congratulate Dr. David Topps who, with his colleague from NOSM Dr. Rachel Ellaway, is being awarded this year's AFMC John Ruedy Award for Innovation in Medical Education. This will occur at the CCME meeting in May in Toronto.

It is with great pleasure that I annouce that Dr.Dickinson has been named a member of the Canadian Task Force on Preventative Health Care. This is a very important role nationally. Dr. Brian Siray received this award in recognition of the provision of exceptional care to his patients, making great contributions to the health and well being of his community and dedicating himself to the education for future generations of family doctors.

Dr. Michael Tarrant

100 Physicians of the Century, Alberta Medical Association
Dr. Michael Tarrant spent much of his career encouraging rural medical education. He was also instrumental in developing one of the best community based influenza monitoring programs in the world. Read his full AMA biography here.
