University of Calgary Facilities: Buildings and spaces

Submitted by aedowd on Wed, 08/31/2016 - 3:55pm

Our facilities support how we learn, experiment, collaborate, teach, work and experience. The University of Calgary comprises over 10.5 million square feet of space across four campuses, plus research field stations, and even an international campus in Qatar.

UCalgary has demonstrated best practices in green building construction in 11 major buildings -- one of the largest concentrations of green buildings on any post-secondary campus in Canada -- and supports the ongoing improvement of the environmental sustainability of our research and innovation-related infrastructure through initiatives like the Utility Reduction Program

Take a sustainability tour!

The Office of Sustainability offers hour-long campus sustainability tours: visit one of North America's most energy efficient laboratory buildings; learn what a woonerf is, and how a student-led pilot to collect compost turned into a campus-wide program; and see how rain gardens and a storm water management pond in the TFDL Quad are naturally managing and filtering storm water. Book a tour!
