Homestay with a Canadian Family

Homestay

Homestay with a Canadian family is the best way to improve your English and learn about Canadian culture. It provides the student with an opportunity to practice his/her English in an informal setting, and learn about Canadian culture.

You will have a private room and share common areas of the home like the kitchen and the living room. In most cases, students will share the bathroom with the rest of the family. Evenings, you will dine with your host family, talking about the days events and sharing each other's culture.

Many of our families have been with us for a number of years. We accept only the most respectable, considerate, and dependable families whom we know will treat our students well and help them to learn English and to learn about Canadian culture.

Please note that during the months of July and August we can only arrange homestay accommodation for students who are taking courses in the English Language Program.

Homestay with a Canadian family includes...

  • A private room.
  • A desk or table at which to study.
  • Three meals a day (at least one prepared), seven days a week.
  • Free laundry facilities for you to do your own laundry.

Homestay with a Canadian family does not include...

  • A private maid. While you will not be expected to do chores in the house, you will be responsible to clean up after yourself.
  • A full-time, live-in English Teacher. Our families want to communicate, and share Canadian culture with you, but they are not going to practice English with you all night.
  • A private chef. You will join the family in their meals. Your family will try to make food that you like, but you should not expect them to accommodate specific diets or types of food.
  • A chauffeur. You are expected to use public transportation to get to and from school, and for going out.
