8th International Workshop on Bifurcations and Degradations in Geomaterials (IWBDG 2008): Applications to Soil-Machine Interaction and Petroleum Geomechanics
Lake Louise, Alberta, Canada
May 28 to 31, 2008
This workshop will bring together the international research community to discuss about geomechanics, from fundamentals to applications, and promote the multidisciplinary nature of geomaterials. Various topics such as localization, material instability and degradation with applications to new and challenging areas such as Soil-Machine Interaction and Petroleum Geomechanics will be discussed with a goal to fostering interactions between faculty from universities, researchers from government labs, principal investigators from industry, and both postgraduate and graduate students.
A unique feature of IWBDG2008 will be a site visit in the form of a one-day post workshop to our industrial sponsor at Caterpillar facilities in Peoria, Illinois, USA. We will invite participants with the best abstracts dealing with soil-machine interaction to Peoria where applications will be discussed between researchers and engineers at Caterpillar.
