With the closing of the Alberta Health Services H1N1 vaccination clinic on campus yesterday, the university’s SU Wellness Centre will have the H1N1 vaccine available on a walk-in or appointment basis on Wednesdays and Thursdays beginning
The immunization clinic on campus is now offering both H1N1 and seasonal influenza vaccinations. Those interested may choose to receive just one of the shots or both. Currently, line-ups at this clinic are short.

The H1N1 clinic on campus is located in The Loft, the café on the fourth floor of MacEwan Student Centre. Hours of operation are 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday, and 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Fridays to Sundays. Currently, line-ups at this clinic are manageable.

The Alberta Health Services H1N1 flu immunization clinic that was previously held in the Olympic Oval is now located in The Loft, the café on the fourth floor of MacEwan Student Centre.
Beginning today, all children under 18 years of age (as of Nov. 1) as well as their immediate family members and caregivers living in the same household are eligible to receive the H1N1 vaccine.

Those who qualify for the vaccination are encouraged to drop in between 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Fridays to Sundays. The clinic is open 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday to Thursday. Proof of age is required (Health Care card, birth certificate or other valid identification).

The H1N1 pandemic can be confusing and real answers are sometimes hard to find. The Calgary Institute for Population and Public Health (CIPPH) at the Faculty of Medicine wants to set the record straight and help you get the answers you need. CIPPH is hosting a public forum on the H1N1 pandemic, inviting the public to send their questions for experts to answer.
"Our Institute wants to connect to the public on topics of importance to their health and health care," says CIPPH's director, and head of the Department of Community Health Sciences at the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Tom Noseworthy.

Starting Nov. 5, Alberta Health Services re-opened the immunization clinic at the Olympic Oval at the University of Calgary. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. This clinic is targeted for Albertans at high risk.
Starting on Thursday, November 5, children aged 6 months (on day of vaccination) to under five years as of November 1st will be targeted. Proof of age (Health Care card, birth certificate or other valid identification) must be provided.
On Friday, November 6, the program will expand to include pregnant women.

The University of Calgary will offer an additional seasonal flu vaccination clinic on Monday, Nov. 2 in response to the high demand from faculty, staff and students. The clinic will run from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the SU Wellness Centre, 3rd floor, MacEwan Student Centre. Click here to make an appointment.
Those working in acute care settings can access H1N1 (pandemic) vaccine at the four acute sites (FMC, PLC, RGH and ACH) starting Monday, Oct. 26 and running through to Sunday, Nov. 1 from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Health care workers in the community as well as health care students, faculty members and staff will be able to access the H1N1 vaccine at these sites as well as the mass venue sites.

Discussions are still underway in terms of Alberta Health Services working with the University to offer H1N1 vaccine on campus.
You need to bring your University ID Card. Don't forget to wear short sleeves. Also please bring you Alberta Provincial Health Care card.
If you had your seasonal flu shot and you still have the yellow form that was given to you by your nurse, please bring that with you as well.

You are encouraged to register in advance. Vaccination clinics will be held at the Students’ Union Wellness Centre, 3rd floor MacEwan Student Centre. Please bring your provincial health card and student/staff identification to your appointment.
The University is waiting for information and recommendations from Alberta Health Services regarding H1N1 vaccination. It is anticipated that this vaccination will be available in November. Further information on the H1N1 vaccination will be shared as it becomes available from AHS.
