Foundations of Effective Online Learning
Authors' Biographies
Robert Woods, J.D., Ph.D., Assistant Professor
of Communication, Department of Communication, Spring Arbor University.
Dr. Woods has taught and designed online
courses and helped to develop online programs at several institutions in
addition to Spring Arbor University, including Yellowstone Baptist College,
Regent University and Indiana Wesleyan University. His current research
interests include the social dynamics of online learning and the relationship
between online learners' psychological sense of community and cognitive
learning.
Dr.
Samuel Ebersole, Instructional Design Specialist and Professor of Mass
Communications at Colorado State University-Pueblo. Dr. Ebersole
has been studying new media and the convergence of digital technologies
since the late 80s. Professor Ebersole received his PhD from Regent
University, and was awarded an Emmy award for his work with NBC Sports'
coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympic Games. Currently he is researching
and teaching about online learning and community building, digital media,
and media effects.
