A request for preceptors for Med 440:

·         We are currently looking for preceptors for medical students who are doing a clinical encounter as part of the Med 440 (advanced evidence based medicine course). These are second-year students, who will be completing their undergraduate training in the neurosciences course this coming fall.

·         Students in this course have the option of doing a clinical shadowing encounter with a preceptor.  They spend approximately 40 hours with that preceptor in any clinical environment, interacting directly with patients.  In addition, the students are expected to explore two different topics related to the patients they see which includes a literature search (the results of which will be reviewed with the preceptors).

·         The two blocks where we need to find preceptors are:

Block 1: August 13th to October 11th

Block 2: October 15th to January 14th 

These students are interested in pursuing the neurosciences as a career and are genuinely appreciative of the opportunity to spend time with us. Please let me know if there are any neurologists, neurosurgeons or physiatrists who would be interested in helping in this role.

Note: The student requests for preceptors occur over the course of the next few weeks. Please be aware it may be two months before I can let you know if you have a student or not.
