Complexity Science Group
The Complexity Science Group has a leading role in the U of C Transdisciplinary Initiative. Our goal is to achieve excellence at U of C through Transdisciplinary Networks in Science, Engineering, and Medicine.
We aim to create a world-class creative community in transdisciplinary research at the University of Calgary. Transdisciplinary research is at once between, across, and beyond all disciplines. The "transdisciplinary style" characterizes the work of many of the greatest scientists, inventors, and humanists.
To engage any interested member of the U of C community in a fluid, flexible, and open manner, with trust and commitment; to explore new directions in communication, discovery, knowledge creation, and the social organization of research; to enhance the manifest connections between the academy and the local community; and to invent the principles and practices that can and must sustain future generations, not only in Alberta but throughout the world. To achieve our ambitions, we must invent new ways of working together to solve everyday problems and to forge a sustainable society. We believe much of the promise of U of C's future lies in transdisciplinary endeavors.
