Choices for Testing

Regular Testing Works
Testing can detect cancer very early. Treatment works best when it is done before the cancer spreads outside the colon. The success rate of treating colon cancer found at an early stage is over 90%.

Testing can also find polyps (small growths in the colon) that might develop into cancer over time.
Removing the polyps early prevents them from turning into cancer.

Who should be tested?
EVERYBODY OVER THE AGE OF 50.Colon cancer usually develops over a long time without causing any symptoms, which is why everybody over the age of 50 should be tested. If it is caught in the early stages, colon cancer has a high cure rate.

If you have a family history of polyps or cancer of the colon and/or rectum you may need to start testing at a younger age.
