What is the time and location of my final exam? |
|
An examination schedule is produced for each session and is published approximately six weeks after the start of the Fall and Winter Sessions and three weeks after the start of Spring and Summer sessions. The production of the schedule takes into account the students' course registrations and which exams they are writing in order to produce the best possible schedule. Your final examination schedule is available through PeopleSoft on your Student Services Center. I did not take Chemistry 30 but I would like to take first year Chemistry. What are my options? |

The Faculty of Continuing Education here at the University of Calgary offers An Introduction to Chemistry course which is designed to prepare students for first year Chemistry . What grade point average do I need to get into Chemistry? |

As per Faculty of Science regulations, a grade point average of at least 2.00 (out of 4.00) over the most recent course work to a maximum of five full-course equivalents is needed to get into Chemistry. |

Where do I find out about summer jobs in the Chemistry Department? |
|
A booklet describing the summer employment opportunities for undergraduate students in the Department of Chemistry during the period of May to August is available in the Chemistry Office, Science A 109 by the previous December. The booklet describes projects that are offered by various faculty members, subject to the availability of funds. In order to secure a summer research position in the Department you are urged to inquire early. You can also download the summer jobs booklet (PDF). Application forms for NSERC scholarships, which support student summer employment, are available to download from the NSERC website at www.nserc.ca The departmental deadline for submitting NSERC applications is the last weekday of January. |

Where can I get copies of old exams? |
|
Copies of previous Chemistry exams for most Chemistry courses are available from the Chemistry Students' Chapter in SB 046, telephone 403-220-3328. |

Where can I find the answers to the review exam I bought? |
|
The Chemistry Students' Chapter (SB 046, phone 403-220-3328) has answers to many of the exams they sell. The Chemistry Office does not have the answers to these review exams. |

Chemistry final exams are kept at the Chemistry Office, SA 109, for a period of 4 months after the release of official grades. Students can obtain a photocopy of their finals at a cost of $2.00 per exam. Note that in accordance with the Freedom of Information and Privacy Act students must present their University I.D. cards in order to get a copy of their exam. |

Where can I buy laboratory supplies.
Lab coats: Available from the University Bookstore. Safety goggles: You may borrow the pair that comes with your equipment drawer or, if you would prefer to have your own pair, they can be purchased from the University Bookstore. Eyeglass shields: Available from Safety Services, next to Campus Security in MacEwan Student Centre. |
