Visiting Speaker

Professor Paul Pringle
Department of Chemistry
Bristol University.

will present a seminar entitled:

"Phosphacycles: why are they such effective ligands for catalysis?"

Abstract;

Cyclic phosphorus ligands have had an enormous impact on homogeneous
 catalysis - from the manufacture of commodity chemicals to asymmetric
 synthesis of fine chemicals. In this lecture, the advantages that
 cyclic ligands have over acyclic analogues will be illustrated with
 examples from our recent research on bicyclic and cage phosphines.
