Admission Requirements

MSc Programs

  • A 4 year BSc with an admission gpa of 3.0 or better.

PhD Programs

  • An honours BSc degree with an admission gpa of 3.7 or better; or
  • A MSc degree with admission gpa of 3.3 or better.

International Students

Degrees and grades from foreign institutions are evaluated for their equivalency to those of the University of Calgary. International students are directed to the Faculty of Graduate Studies and their International Requirements for Admission.

Students whose first language is other than English are required to provide proof of proficiency in English. The admissible tests and minimum scores are as follows:

                                   TOEFL - 93 internet based test or 580 paper-based test

                                   IELTS - 7.5

                                   MELAB - 83

                                   EAP - Successful completion of Level 3

   PTE - 64

This department does not require GRE scores.
