TITLE:                    “A look at catalysts for tandem and related catalyzed reactions”.

ABSTRACT:

Tandem catalysis involves two or more transformations of an organic moiety by a catalyst utilizing two or more mechanisms.  Catalysis of this type can involve multiple active sites that can either work synergically or independently in performing the catalytic cycles.  Performing transformations of these types can decrease time, catalyst materials and improve selectivity and overall atom economy.  This presentation will focus on the classification and recent research in the field of tandem catalysis, both homogeneous and heterogeneous, for a range of reactions.
