TITLE: “New Cathode Materials for Electrochemical Energy Storage”
ABSTRACT
Electricity represents the most flexible and useful form of energy and much of our daily lives depend on it being readily available. While electricity may be easily converted to suit many different purposes, efficient and economical storage of electrical energy faces many technological challenges. Advanced secondary (rechargeable) batteries represent a logical storage option; however, large-scale applications such as utility power storage and widespread adoption of electric vehicles, are prohibited by performance, cost and safety concerns with current technologies. This talk will focus on recent and notable developments in cathode materials for advanced secondary batteries.
