Canadian Writers-in-Residence at the Reunion Festival in 2016: Peter Oliva, Richard Harrison, Deborah Willis, Larissa Lai, Rosemary Nixon, and Marcello Di Cintio

Past Writers-in-Residence

The Canadian Writer-in-Residence is chosen by the program's steering committee, comprised of members of the Calgary literary community, as well as University of Calgary faculty members and a graduate student representative. Our writers-in-residence dedicate half their time to their own writing, and half their time to community engagement, working to help the program enrich Calgary's literary landscape. Many of our writers-in-residence have gone on to have distinguished literary careers, winning Governor General's Literary Awards and the Giller Prize, among other accolades.
