Translation of CDSS: Is there a version of the CDSS in your language or a language that you need to use? Are you interested in translating the CDSS into the language that you need?  The minimum requirement for a translation is a three step process.
  1. Translation from original into the new language. Preferably this is done by a person fluent in both languages who also understands the concepts.

  2. Back translation by a different person.

  3. Verification by the original author of the scale (Dr. Addington) that the back translation accurately reflects the original words.

If you wish to translate the scale into another language please contact Dr. Donald Addington by e-mail or in writing.

Validation of the CDSS in different languages: Ideally before a scale is used in translation it should be validated in the language into which it is being translated. This would involve the usual steps such as test/retest reliability, internal reliability validity and lack of overlap with other symptoms or syndromes in schizophrenia.

Listing  articles about the CDSS: We will try to post all articles that examine the psychometric properties of the scale on this web page. If you wish to do a study in your language please feel free to do so.  We will only post published papers but please send a copy of articles that you have published.
