Research Interests:

Dr. Andreas Wissman entered the biotechnology industry with the NemaPharm Group at Axys Pharmaceuticals, which later became part of Celera Genomics. In 2001, he co-founded a company based in Madison, Wisconsin to apply whole animal human disease models to high throughput small molecule drug discovery. He has recently relocated this operation to Calgary with the establishment of NemaRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Specific targets of this drug discovery program are treatments for neurodegenerative diseases and novel analgesics.
