I’m back in Calgary. it’s so nice to be back home! It was a long journey back.
We woke up at 5:30 a.m. on Saturday, had breakfast at the hotel and got on a 7 a.m. bus to the airport. Upon arriving to the airport we were found out our plane would be an hour late. In the end we didn’t take off until 11:20 a.m. The flight was 10 hour long due to strong head winds.
Rizzuti at the airport ready to fly back to Calgary, Canada. While in the airport I had two realizations:
- It’s much faster to travel with an EU passport over a Canadian passport in Europe
- Many commodities are significantly cheaper in Canada, compared to Europe
During the flight back I sat with Cosmo and behind us sat this very talkative old grandmother. She really made the time pass so fast. We chatted about everything, ranging from time zones changes, to the size of the plane, to the science behind flight.
Generally the flight back was good, long but good. Upon arriving to Toronto (terminal one), I went through customs, no problems at all, gathered my luggage and then made the mad dash to terminal three to check in for my flight to Calgary, which was scheduled to leave in an hour. Arriving to the Westjet counter I find out that my flight to Calgary has been delayed an hour.
All in all, after hours of delays, I returned home at nearly 10 p.m. Calgary time. At this point it was nearly 23 hours since I had woken up, and about 15 hours of flight time. Needless to say I was exhausted.
