Program

From Cell to Society

The O'Brien Centre for the Bachelor of Health Sciences Program (BHSc) offers students an undergraduate degree designed to introduce students to various aspects of health and health research. This undergraduate research-intensive honours degree program consists of three majors – Biomedical Sciences, Bioinformatics, and Health and Society – with the course instruction spanning across the faculties of the University of Calgary.

The philosophy of the BHSc is that contemporary health issues need to be examined in a broad-based, interdisciplinary, active manner. The program structure is designed to provide students with a well-rounded background in health sciences that will enable them to pursue further opportunities in the global health care sector.
