On this page you will find Important information about changes to the program, university and general notices for students.
Effective immediately, new courses have been added to the Bioinformatics and Biomedical Sciences CORE options in each of their curriculums. Below are the new courses that will be accepted in addition to those existing CORE options.
Bioinformatics:
Already existing CORE options are: MDSC 404, CPSC 461 and BCEM 443.
Commencing Fall 2011, Biology 241/243 will replace Biology 231/233 as the core introductory departmental courses, serving as prerequisites for the 300-level core biology courses and others.
Biology 231 and 233 will no longer be offered effective Fall 2011.
To accommodate students with only one course completed when the transition occurs the Department will accept any pairing of the old courses (231/233) and the new courses (241/243) to satisfy the 1 FCE junior biology course requirement. Further questions should be directed to the Department of Biological Sciences.
HSOC students who started the Bachelor of Health Sciences program in 2008 are not required to complete both MATH 249/251 and MDSC 407. If you have completed MATH 249 or 251, you are not required to complete MDSC 407. If you have any questions, please contact the Coordinator of Student Affairs.
MDSC 307 is no longer mandatory to the program, for more information check out your program guide under Program.
