What is HeForShe?

People everywhere understand and support the idea of gender equality. They know it’s not just a women’s issue, it’s a human rights issue. Launched by UN Women in 2014, HeForShe is a global solidarity movement that invites men and people of all genders to create a bold, visible and united force for gender equality.

HeForShe provides a systematic approach and targeted platform where a global audience can engage and become change agents for the achievement of gender equality in our lifetime, on our university campus and around the world.

Paul Brandt

Paul Brandt - Keynote Speaker

Paul Brandt is a Multi-Platinum recording artist, philanthropist, and 21-year serial entrepreneur.

Influenced by his past as a Registered Nurse at the Alberta Children’s Hospital, Paul combines his celebrity platform with humanitarian endeavours. Paul's humanitarian work has led him to various projects in Ethiopia, Malawi, Egypt, Belize, Mexico, Haiti and Cambodia.

Paul promotes projects to meet practical physical, emotional, and psychosocial needs around the world. Inspired by this idea, the anti-human trafficking movement called #NotInMyCity, focused on raising awareness about child sexual exploitation and sex trafficking, was born.

In his keynote talk, Paul will share insights about his role as a male advocate in the gender-based violence space through his work as the founder of #NotInMyCity.
