Cape Fullerton

The Fullerton region has never been permanently inhabited. It was primarily used in the early 1900s as a whaling station and a trading point. In September 1903 a Northwest Mounted Police outpost was established to establish Canadian sovereignty, administer whaling licenses, collect customs duties, control liquor, and maintain order. The post was closed in 1914 and moved south to Churchill, Manitoba.
