It was from Vancouver that the St. Roch began its first passage in 1940 and completed its second in 1944. Shown below is the vessel after its 86 day voyage in 1944. Having traveled 7,295 miles in 1,031 hours of steaming, the ship completed the fastest transit of the Northwest Passage to that point.
