Nicole Markotic teaches creative writing and English literature at the University of Calgary. She has served on the board of the U of C's Markin-Flanagan Distinguished Writers Programme and has been editor and publisher for the magazines Secrets from the Orange Couch, Vox, and for the small press disOrientation. She has published poetry, Connect the Dots (1994), and a novel Yellow Pages (1995). She has three chapbook publications, Tracking the Game, He and (He) and More Excess, which won the prestigious 1998 Nichol Chapbook Award and which is included in her latest book of poetry Minotaurs & Other Alphabets.
