Alain and Marie-Claude wear their Dinos swag.
Go Dinos Go!
A snowy but fun Vanier Cup at PEPS Stadium.
Alain Gallagher, BSc'86, and his wife Marie-Claude were the lucky winners of a trip to the Vanier Cup this past weekend.
They had less then 24 hours to pack their bags and catch a plane, but Alain and Marie-Claude Gallagher didn't let that worry them. They were the lucky winners of a trip to the Vanier Cup to watch the Dinos face off against Laval.
"The trip was of course unexpected. I have to admit that I was pleasantly surprised to receive a phone call to tell me that we were heading to Québec for the Vanier Cup, with less than 24 hours to get ready," says Alain.
Alain was a very appropriate winner for this contest as he graduated from both Laval and U of C. "As an alumnus of both universities, I knew that my University was going to win. Marie-Claude and I have lived in Calgary for the better part of the last 30 years and my three children are currently attending U of C. Our hearts and cheers were for the Dinos all the way."
Despite a dissapointing oucome for the Dinos at the Vanier Cup, Alain and Marie-Claude had a great time. "It was nice to walk through the Laval Campus for the first time in 29 years. We still have friends and family in Québec so we took time to visit some of them. We also took time for a run through the streets of Old Quebec. I would like to thank the University of Calgary and the Alumni Association for giving us this chance to participate in the Vanier Cup weekend."
Thanks, Alain and Marie-Claude, for cheering for the Dinos at the Vanier Cup and too all the alumni who came to the game.
Go Dinos!
