2009 Markin-Flanagan Writer-in-Residence reading

Two-time U of C alumnus Marcello Di Cintio, BA'97, BSc'97, is the University of Calgary’s 2009-2010 Markin-Flanagan Canadian Writer-in-Residence. On September 17, he and 2008-09 writer-in-residence Charlotte Gill conducted public readings at the Epcor Centre's Engineered Air Theatre to launch the year.

More than 50 alumni gathered for a special pre-reception to honour Marcello, the first member of the U of C alumni family in recent history to serve as the Markin-Flanagan Canadian Writer-in-Residence. Chancellor Joanne Cuthbertson, BEd'73, welcomed Marcello before the official program got underway, during which time he read from his novel Poets and Pahlevans. Thanks to all those alumni who came together for this special evening.
