Science Cafe

The September 22 edition of Science Cafe, The Oil Sands: Can we live without them? played to a packed house at the Ironwood Stage and Grill. Moderated by the U of C's David Layzell, executive director of the Institute for Sustainable Energy, Environment and Economy (ISEEE), it produced a lively discussion with panelists David McColl, research director for the Canadian Energy Research Institute and Kendall Dilling, the Canadian Association of Petroleum Producers' manager, oil sands and regulatory. They spoke to emerging technologies, environmental concerns, Canada's role as an oil-producing country, and they responded to educated questions during a lively Q&A session with the audience. Science Cafe thanks event sponsor Ironwood Stage and Grill, and series sponsor AJM Petroleum Consultants for their support of this community initiative.
