U of C comes to Edmonton - May 13, 2008

U of C alumni, prospective students and members of Alberta's Legislative Assembly gathered in Edmonton May 13 to see former English captain and paparazzi magnet David Beckham and his LA Galaxy take on the Vancouver Whitecaps in a friendly soccer match at Commonwealth Stadium.

The Edmonton-area alumni and other U of C guests were treated to pre-game meal of burgers and hotdogs at a reception hosted by U of C Alumni Association President Tamara McCarron. Later, the Whitecaps edged out the Galaxy 2-1 in front of more than 37,000 fans.
