University of Calgary

Campus Tours

Get to know your future campus by experiencing it directly during a University of Calgary campus tour. Guided by a current University of Calgary student, you'll spend approximately 90 minutes (1.5 hours) exploring our classrooms, residences, athletic facilities, the Students' Union building, and more.  You and your family can register for one of our weekly tours that are offered throughout the year.

If you can't make it to campus or want to look around outside of our tour hours, print off a copy of our Self Guided Walking Tour to take with you as you explore campus. You'll experience the same sights and sounds as you would with one of our tour guides.

Winter Tours

Tours on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will start in the Campus Tour Room located in the MacKimmie Library Tower (MLT 102). Just look for the red wall and campus tours sign near the bottom of the escalator.

The meeting location for Saturday Tours is on the main floor of the Taylor Family Digital Library (TFDL) by the main set of stairs. The Good Earth Café and the museum gift shop are also in the same area.

To register for a campus tour, please complete the following Campus Tour Request Form and include any mobility or special requests.

Registration for Saturday tours is mandatory and must be made by 4:30 p.m. (MST) on the Thursday prior to the Saturday tour. Please be aware that tours of our Residence are available only during the week.

Drop-ins are welcome for our weekday tours, but registration is encouraged as it allows us to tailor the tour for our group and ensure we have the appropriate number of tour crew.

Please make every effort to arrive on time as all tours will begin promptly at their scheduled time. If you have difficulties finding our office please call 403-220-5670. Please note that this phone is typically only monitored during the weekdays 30 minutes prior to tours. Alternatively the best way to contact us outside of this time would be via e-mail at tours@ucalgary.ca

Register a Group Tour

If you have a large group or any special requests, email us and a member of our office will contact you to try and arrange your tour. We ask that you request the group tour at least 2 weeks in advance to your preferred date in order to accommodate your request. Please note that we cannot accommodate tour requests outside of our regular business hours which are 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday.

Parking & Transportation

If you are driving to campus the most convenient parking lots to our location are the Arts Parkade ($7.00/entry) or Lot 1 (metered parking $3.00/hour).  The most economical lots on campus are Lot 10 & 11 by the Olympic Oval and Lot 32 by Scurfield Hall (all $5.00/entry).

If you are arriving from the Calgary International Airport (YYC) driving time to campus is approximately 25-30 minutes and the approximate taxi fare is $45.

The university is also serviced by public transit. The University Station C-Train stop is located on the northwest line and is approximately a 15-20 minute ride from downtown.  There are also a number of transit bus lines that service campus.

View a map of our campus to see where parking lots and buildings on campus are located.
