University of Calgary

Step 4: After You've Been Admitted

You are one step away from becoming a University of Calgary student. We couldn't be happier that you've been accepted, and we can't wait for you to begin your studies here.

If you've accepted our offer of admission, the next step is to register for the courses you plan on taking during the upcoming Fall and Winter sessions.

Here is a quick guide as to how you register for your courses. Still having some troubles? Feel free to contact Service Stop by telephone at (403)210-ROCK (7625) (available M,T,W,F from 9:30 - 4:30 and R 10:00 - 4:30). You can also visit us in person in MacKimmie Library Block at MLB 117.
  1. Check the most recent version of the University Calendar for degree requirements for your intended program. (Click on Faculties and Programs at the top of the page, and then Program Details once you've accessed your program) You'll find a list of the courses you require to graduate. A note for Engineers: you register by course groups. This means that most of your classes have already been chosen for you; all you have to do is register in your course group and you will be set for you first year.

  2. We highly recommend students use our comprehensive Course Registration and Planning Guide to assist them with course registration. These will be mailed out to all new students. If you did not receive one of these in the mail, you can pick one up from Service Stop (located in MacKimmie Library Block).

  3. Once you've decided on what courses you'd like to take, visit you online Student Centre by logging into myUofC.

  4. To register for classes:

    1) Go to My UofC and login

    2) Under Quick Links click on the Student Centre

    3) Click on Add a Class OR click on Search for Classes and click on the add folder tab.

    4) Select the term you wish to search for classes in and click on change.

    5) Enter the class number and click on enter.

    6) Click on select class. If prompted, select the lecture, lab, or tutorial you wish to register in. Click on next.

    7) Click on proceed to step 2 of 3. Confirm that the information displayed regarding your class registration is correct.

    8) Click on finish enrolling.

    9) View the results of your registration, fix any errors, and return to your Student Centre to register for more classes.

At peak times of registration, it is recommended that you register for classes individually (by completing the above steps for each class), rather than adding classes to your Shopping Cart.

  5. Remember that before registration opens up, you can only register for courses during your scheduled Online Registration Appointment Time. Be sure to register for both your Fall and Winter courses at the same time!
