Applicants who will be considered on the basis of high school credentials must present satisfactory standing on five distinct and appropriate subjects (subjects listed below) in the 12th (or 13th if appropriate) year of Senior Secondary School and must have graduated with the appropriate high school documents and credentials. Are you eligible for Early Admission? If you are currently in your final year of high school, please have your school forward a transcript with interim grades from your final year (the deadline for submission is May 1). Students offered Early Admission must maintain the competitive average and meet admission requirements to receive a final offer of admission.
English Language is required for all programs, as well as appropriate courses (listed below). For admission purposes, the University of Calgary classifies all other appropriate subjects into the following four groups:

Auditions are required for applicants to the Dance and Music (BMUS) programs. A portfolio is required for applicants to the Visual Studies program.

Applicants to the Schulich School of Engineering with a high academic average who present an acceptable Group A or B subject in lieu of Calculus may be considered for admission on an individual basis. Students who are admitted without Calculus will be asked to follow an alternate Mathematics program in their first year to overcome this deficiency.
Science:
Chemistry is required for all Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology & Geophysics and Physics & Astronomy programs. Biology is required for all Biological Sciences programs. Physics is recommended for all Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology & Geophysics, Physics & Astronomy, and Applied Mathematics programs. Calculus is strongly recommended for all programs.
