Applicants who will be considered on the basis of high school credentials must present satisfactory standing on five distinct and appropriate subjects in the 12th (or 13th if appropriate) year of Senior Secondary School and must have graduated with the appropriate international credential.
English Language is required for admission to all undergraduate programs. English as a Second Language is not acceptable in lieu of English Language.
For admission purposes, the University of Calgary classifies all other subjects into the following four groups:

Applicants to the Schulich School of Engineering with a high academic average who present an acceptable Group A or B subject in lieu of Calculus may be considered for admission on an individual basis. Students who are admitted without Calculus will be asked to follow an alternate Mathematics program in their first year to overcome this deficiency.
Science:
Chemistry is required for all Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology & Geophysics and Physics & Astronomy programs. Biology is required for all Biological Sciences programs. Physics is recommended for all Biological Sciences, Chemistry, Geology & Geophysics, Physics & Astronomy, and Applied Mathematics programs. Calculus is strongly recommended for all programs.
