IB Admission

Admission to University of Calgary

Admission to the University of Calgary is granted on a competitive basis. As an IB student, your eligibility for our recognition program requires that you satisfy the admission criteria for your chosen program of study.

Details on admission on the basis of IB Diploma results can be found online at the Admissions website. Early admission decisions will be based on anticipated results. Speak with your IB coordinator to ensure that appropriate interim results are submitted to the University of Calgary by April 1. You must also ensure that your final IB results are submitted to the University of Calgary. These are required for us to consider you for formal admission and for us to confirm your eligibility for our IB recognition and benefits program. Please ensure that you make a formal request to the International Baccalaureate Organization Regional Office to release your results to the University of Calgary.

High School vs. IB marks

If you are studying both a high school curriculum and IB diploma, you may submit both your high school curriculum results and your IB Diploma results. We will use whichever result works to your advantage when we make early and formal admission decisions. Please note that we will consider the two sets of results independently and will not blend them to determine your eligibility.
