  • At least two subjects at the 'Advanced'Level:
    • Example: GCE A2; Principal/Pre-University; CXC CAPE Unit 2; Singapore-Cambridge Advanced level H2
  • The remaining three subjects may be from the 'Ordinary'Level:

Please do not send your original certificates to the University of Calgary. All documents received become the property of the University and will NOT be returned. If you have your own original certificates, you may wish to provide us with photocopies which are normally acceptable for evaluation purposes. If you are admitted, we will require official verification of results to be sent directly from the appropriate examining board.

The University of Calgary awards advanced credit for specific Advanced level subjects.

Early Admission

For information on the early admission process, please see the General Guidelines. Early Admission for students following the GCE system of education will be considered on the basis of the following:

  • Grades achieved on five appropriate 'Ordinary' Level subjects - applicants should provide photocopies of their original exam board issued certificates.
  • Predicted examination grades on two appropriate 'Advanced' Level subjects - these must be verified and sent by the appropriate school official.

As official certificates from your advanced level examinations may not be available by August 1, please have the appropriate examinations office forward a fax copy of your final advanced level results. Our fax number is (403) 220-0762. This will assist us in determining your admissibility. You must arrange to have official verification of your results forwarded to our office by the examinations board(s), when available.
