There are two broad categories of entering scholarships for high school students applying to the University of Calgary: Entrance Awards and Outstanding Achievement Awards. The deadline to apply for Entrance Awards is April 1, 2011. The deadline for Outstanding Achievement Awards is December 15, 2010. Details on the process of applying for these awards can be found in at Financial Aid's website.
Note: You do not have to apply for the scholarships for IB Diploma students. Consideration for these will be automatic pending submission of official IB Diploma results.
Submit both. We will use whichever set of results works to your advantage when making admission decisions. Please note that final and official IB Diploma results will be the basis for formal admission consideration and that anticipated IB results will be the basis for early admission consideration.
Regardless of your citizenship, the IB Diploma is a sufficient admission credential. Please note that University of Calgary's admission requirements (the subjects and scores required for admission) for IB Diploma students will vary by Faculty and program. In addition to meeting admission requirements, all students must meet English Language Proficiency requirements.
International students are eligible for the IB Matters scholarships for IB Diploma students and for University of Calgary Entrance Awards.
International students are not eligible for Outstanding Achievement Awards.
