Driving to campus? Taking transit?

You can get pretty much anywhere in Calgary from campus by car, bicycle, walking or transit. In fact, we encourage you to go green and take advantage of one of Canada’s best transit systems and your unlimited use transit pass (UPass), included with your tuition.

Located in Calgary's North-West quadrant, the University of Calgary is easily accessible no matter which way you're coming to campus. Calgary Transit is a cost-effective, easy way to get to campus. Several major bus routes serve the University of Calgary and a C-Train station is connected to campus.

Every Fall and Winter semester, you purchase a U-Pass. This is a transit pass that allows you to access transit for a substantially lower cost than regular passes (regularly $75 a month for adults) and lasts the semester . Be sure to take advantage of this unique offer while you're a student!

Parking

There’s no denying it – parking is a precious commodity at the University of Calgary. Faculty, staff, current undergraduate students and graduate students get priority, and demand definitely outweighs supply. New students wanting a parking space must place their name on the appropriate lot wait list.

However, there are many other options for drivers. Pay lots are available for students on the list for a permanent spot or wanting an alternative to a semester or year pass. There are two parkades for public parking – the MacEwan Student Centre Parkade and the Art Parkade. You can buy a permit each semester for the Art Parkade, or for parking at nearby McMahon Stadium. Carpooling can also be a wise choice. In Lots 10, 11 and 32, vehicles with three or more people gain entry for a reduced daily fee. For more information on parking, visit the Parking Services website.
