Share your voice with Latin American, Caribbean and Canadian youth leaders.

Join the discussion on employment and economic development, social innovation and sustainability, and sports and cultural development. This first time ever in Canada ‘talk show’ format conference will be broadcast by MTV Latin America. The day will close with a special concert featuring Columbian pop sensation, Marre, and American-Mexican pop/rock singer and song writer, Guillermo Galindo.

Celebrate the 100th anniversary of International Women's Day on campus

This year marks the centenary of International Women’s Day, held on March 8 each year to honour women’s advancement and celebrate their economic, political and social achievements. The Women’s Resource Centre celebrates the International Women’s Day throughout the week with creative projects, music, food and inspiring stories.

The highlight of this week is the WRC Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, March 8 from 12 – 1 p.m. The 2011 Distinguished Student is Lauren Webber, International Relations student. Rita Egizii, BComm ’96, is the Alumna Award recipient.

Other events include:
- International Potluck & Drumming Circle: Wednesday, March 9, 11 a.m. – 3 p.m.
- Presentation & Discussion “Empowering Women in Developing and Developed Nations”: Thursday, March 10, 12 – 1:30 p.m.
- Torso Cast Painting & Community Art Project: Friday, March 11, 10 a.m. – 3 p.m.

Apply to be an Orientation Leader today!

Apply now to be involved in a fantastic orientation week with the incoming class of 2015! The Student Success Centre is looking for motivated and interested student leaders from ALL faculties to be involved in welcoming new students during Fall Orientation Week. Join the team in a fun filled week of meeting new people and showing our new students why it’s awesome to be a Dino!

Volunteer for Information Evenings 2011

Every year, the U of C plays host to prospective students and their families during our annual Information Evenings. We're looking for current U of C students to help greet and direct these future students.

Volunteers are needed on either Monday, March 21 or Tuesday, March 22 to work from 4:00 - 8:30 p.m. E-mail events@ucalgary.ca to find out more about this volunteer opportunity and sign up.

This past reading week 30 U of C students participated in Calgary Serves, an alternative spring break program. Come hear their stories and experiences on during the first Calgary Serves Celebration of Service. Get inspired and learn how you can get involved next year. Admission is free and light refreshments will be provided.
